With over 30 years of dedicated experience in real estate finance, Doug has built a career helping businesses and investors secure mortgage financing that best meets their needs and helps them achieve their goals.
Since entering the industry in 1992, he has worked in all facets of real estate finance including origination, underwriting, equity capital raising, direct lending and joint ventures. Each perspective honing his skill in structuring complex deals and closing transactions of every scale.
Doug covers a broad range of real estate sectors and purposes including acquisition financing, refinances, construction, bridge loans and investment property solutions.
Since 2005 Doug has been particularly active in the seniors housing industry working with for-profit and non-profit operators of Independent lIving, Assisted Living and Residential Care arranging construction loans, term loans, CMHC-insured loans and secondary mezzanine financing. This includes having also helped structure capital stacks for submissions of successful RFP proponents for Health Authority-funded P3 projects.
His deep market knowledge and long-standing relationships with a wide network of lenders allow him to deliver competitive terms and creative structuring, even in challenging economic environments.
